How has the afterlife inspired your present life?

Art in Oregon works to build bridges between artists and communities. This autumn we’re seeking to extend that bridge beyond the veil. The Ghost Show is your opportunity to show us what haunts you. What ghosts lurk in your attic? What chains rattle the hallways of your mind? How has the paranormal influenced your work?

About the Exhibit Space

Art in Oregon established the Mary Elizabeth Gallery in collaboration with the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House Museum in Oregon City. Artists chosen will have their work displayed in a home built in 1908 by prominent real estate investors Harley Stevens and his wife, Mary Elizabeth. The house was restored to much of its original Edwardian splendor through donations of furnishings and textiles. A visit to the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House Museum will transfer you back to Progressive Era inventions and innovations.  It’s also probably haunted. The Mary Elizabeth Gallery can accommodate most artwork sizes. This call is open to all mediums. We welcome modern takes on ghosts as well as traditional themes!

To apply complete the basic application form that includes a brief artist statement. Then email 3-5 images and image information to: selena@artinoregon.org AND nataliewood@artinoregon.org

Artist Eligibility

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Artists must be a resident of Oregon for at least six months at the date of application.

Image submission requirements

• Images of artwork must be of high quality. 
• Image files must be in .jpeg, tiff, or pdf format
• Label all artwork digital files as follows – First name-Last name-title-size.jpeg
• Copyright remains with the artist and is the responsibility of the artist.
