The auction benefits both Art in Oregon and the Clackamas County Historical Society, two non-profits working to enrich the lives of the local community through education and cultural programs. The Clackamas County Historical Society that operates the Museum of the Oregon Territory and the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House Museum (SCHH) are embracing Oregon artists as a valuable part of Oregon history. Art in Oregon and Clackamas County Historical Society have developed a partnership over the past two years after AiO awarded MOOT with a grant to acquisition their first artwork from a contemporary Oregon artist. Art in Oregon now regularly curates exhibitions of Oregon artists in both the SCHH and MOOT adding a fresh cultural experience for visitors. Art in Oregon was recently awarded grant funding to support a new Artist in Residency program in 2020 that will provide artists with studio space for a month at SCHH, a stipend to support the creation of new artwork, and an exhibition at SCHH.
